Wilderness wood wedding

Wilderness wood wedding couple

I’ve been staring at my screen for a little while now. Just thinking about how I can even start telling you about Jo & Rosie’s Wilderness Wood Wedding. In the Skype meetings leading up to the wedding I quickly got a sense as to how much fun it was going to be and I wasn’t wrong. Jo & Rosie are such an infectiously happy couple, and that, along with their love of travelling pretty much set the tone of the wedding. It was all sorts of ace, from the tuk tuk to the zip line, to the awesome vegan food. It was a woodland wedding extravaganza…

Wilderness Wood is basically 62 acres of natural woodland that has a cafe, a kitchen garden, a marquee, a workshop, a home and heaps of camping space. Its an amazing place with a big focus on sustainability, its pretty much a big woodland playground. And with all of the extra work that the girls had put into it (just look at all of those paper cranes..) It looked blooming amazing. Its hands down one of my favourite wedding venues that I’ve ever shot at.

The girls got ready separately in the morning, with Rosie getting ready at Wilderness Wood and Jo getting ready elsewhere with her family before making the six mile journey in  a badass yellow tuk tuk, yep, thats right six miles in an authentic Thai tuk tuk. Music and family played a big part, with Jo’s brothers playing playing music at various parts of the day and her Dad even joining them in playing the first dance. There was so much for everyone to do, from the zip line (I’m pretty sure it might be the only time that I will ever see two brides ride a zip line together), to the tin can alley and coconut shy that had been set up, to the woodland trail that people were able to follow throughout the day.

After the first dance, the evening kicked off with music from The Brixton Barndance who were awesome in getting everyone on their feet (not that much encouragement was needed). After this, the night ended with a silent disco, before chilling out around a campfire, with those that wanted to being able to camp over.

Jo & Rosies Wilderness wood wedding was non stop fun, from start to finish. And they are such lovely fun couple, its no surprise that many of their guests were travelling friends who made the journey from as far as Thailand and Australia to see them get married.
