Ali & Toby’s Northampton garden wedding (sort of…)

Ali & Toby are good friends of ours, so I was super stoked to be shooting their Northampton garden wedding party.. I say wedding party as these two lovely people decided to run off to Gretna Green and get married a few weeks before this in a small private ceremony with just a couple of friends and their son as witnesses.. There was no room for any complaints though, as everyone was so shocked that Toby had actually pulled his finger out and finally got round to asking her..

This, however, was the party or reception if you like. It was in the garden of the family home in the lovely village of Boughton just outside Northampton, and what an awesome day it was. There was plenty of sun and even more real ale, and everyone involved had done a seriously good job of dressing the marquee with wildflowers and bunting. It looked amazing and suited the chilled out summer vibe perfectly.

To keep everyone fed, Ali & Toby enrolled the help of The Gurkha Field Kitchen to provide us all with some delicious Nepalese curry. After the speeches the band, Helta Skelta got everything into full swing and these guys were amazing, they may possibly even be my new favourite wedding band (sorry Plastic Pantomime..).

So all in all, a fantastic shindig and one I enjoyed shooting. I may have even put my cameras down and had a few beers towards the end of the night too, I was at a friends wedding after all…
