India street photography

India street photography.

I’m not sure I even know where to begin when I think about this trip… India is an incredible place and I was lucky enough to spend a couple of weeks travelling around the North of the country with seven of the finest photographers I know.

We landed in New Delhi, and with a combination of flights and night trains we managed to visit Jodhpur, with its amazing Blue City. Kolkata, with its vibrant markets. And Varanasi with the sacred Ganges river, before heading back to Delhi for the flight home.

It would be impossible to go through all of the trip here as India is just such a massive assault on the senses, it’s impossible to get across with words, from the smog in Delhi, which gave even the hardiest of us sore throats after a few days, to the smell and smoke of the burning ghats of Varanasi.

My personal highlights were the early morning boat trip out on the Ganges and just exploring the inner workings of Delhi, keeping off the tourist trail and getting just a little insight into everyday Indian life. One thing that will stick with more than any thing else though is the kindness and easy going nature of pretty much everyone that we met on the trip, we were welcomed into strangers homes and workplaces with open arms and  met with the friendliest smiles. I’m grateful to everyone that I met and the friends that I travelled with for making it such an amazing journey. Thanks also to the awesome folks over at Fujifilm, who sent me an X-T2 and a couple of lenses for the trip, the fact that it was much lighter and quieter then my usual wedding kit was a welcome addition.

You can also hear interviews from all of us about the trip and other things wedding photography here on PhotobizXposed.

Anyway, here in no particular order, is what I came back with, enjoy…..
